DDOT Continues to Respond to Storm-Related Incidents Across the District

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT), in conjunction with other District government agencies, continues to respond to numerous storm-related incidents across the District. These include Southbound I-295 leaving the District, closed from exit 3A due to flooding — the DC Water and Sewer Authority is on site pumping water out of the area. The inbound 12th Street Tunnel remains closed due to flooding. Constitution Avenue at 17th Street, NW, remains closed due to flooding.

DDOT is working with local, regional and federal officials on several incidents including signal outages around the National Mall to which it is responding. South Capitol Street, SW, underpasses remain flooded. The South Capitol Street Bridge has been re-opened in both directions.

DDOT’s Urban Forestry Administration crews are responding to reports of tree damage including the 4600 block of Broad Branch Road, 3801 Nebraska Avenue, NW, 1725 P Street, NW, and 44th and Harrison Streets, NW, and 28th and P Streets, NW.

Further street closures follow below:

  • Broad Branch Road closed (4200 – 4800)

  • Madison Drive and Blagden Avenue, going into Rock Creek Park is closed

  • 3000 block of Clinton Street, NE, both directions

  • 4300 Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, closed

  • 3200 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE
