Scope:

This initiative, the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative Transportation Architecture Design Guidelines, a major component of the AWI, shall provide guidance to:

• Augment other efforts already underway in the AWI;
• Unify transportation architecture for, but not limited to, all roadway and transportation-related construction projects in the Anacostia River area;
• Help preserve and enhance the unique public realm of the Anacostia River area;
• Integrate the Anacostia River area with the District’s monumental and historic character.

The transportation architecture contains all the transportation-related elements within the public realm. Study Area: Includes all AWI areas. Schedule: Project Start: May 29, 2004 Project End: May 2005 (The AWI Transportation Architecture Design Guidelines is available online.)
